It is August 17th, 2016 and it is my third day of senior year. So far I’ve pretty much settled into all my classes except for Trigonometry because we’ve been having some technological problems and everyone is pretty much lost. I’m pretty happy with my schedule because it’s a mixture of challenging classes such as Trigonometry, Psychology, and Physics as well as easy classes such as Beginning Guitar, Office Aide, English, and Government. Right now my favorite class is guitar. I’ve been trying to get into this class since Freshman year but it was always full. The only downside to my schedule is that I didn’t get one of the classes that I chose as an elective which was Video Game and App Development. To add salt to the wounds my friends who are enrolled in that class keep telling me how great it is, those punks. Overall, I’m pretty content with my classes and anticipate my senior year to be both a challenge but fun too.
In terms of progress for my senior project, I would say that I’m pretty much almost done with it. I completed my job shadow and all the tasks with it over the summer at a Honda dealership up in Selma. So that’s one thing I don’t have to worry about anymore which is a huge weight off my shoulders. Right now I’m just focusing on my life map which was supposed to be done I guess my freshman year but I barely found out about it at the end of my junior year. I already have ideas of what I want to make so it shouldn’t be too hard to actually finish. To be honest, I’d be lying if I said that working on my project has been exciting. It’s been one big ball of stress and a roller coaster ride trying to get all these assignments completed on time. I’m just glad that my job shadow is out of the way. Once I’m completely done with all my assignments, it’s just a matter of sprucing up my website and making it look nicer because right now it’s nothing but texts. Since we are still in the first week of the school year I don’t really know what to expect for the future of my senior year. I’m pretty sure everyone wants a stress free final year but the reality of that is that it won’t happen. If anything I want my senior year to go as smooth as possible. I want to pass my classes but at the same time have as much fun as I can with my friends. I think the biggest thing I’m looking forward to for my senior year is passing my exit interview and walking for graduation. My goals for this year, I want to stay on pace on trigonometry and pass that class because from what some of my friends have told me, it’s no walk in the park. I also want to get my drivers permit and then eventually get my license. I’ve already passed my drivers ed class and mastered the art of stick shift. I also want to be able to play the guitar decently and so far in the two days I’ve been in guitar class I’ve made good progress. Well that’s all for now and I hope everything goes as planned.

It is August 9th, 2016 and I go back to school in one week as a senior. In one week I will cease to be a junior and move on to the last chapter of my high school life. During my junior year I had plenty of fun and pretty much loved all my classes. I think my favorite classes were Chemistry and being a Teacher's Assistant even though that really isn’t a class. It did however give me plenty of extra time to complete other assignments for my other classes. My junior year wasn’t anything too special but it wasn’t terrible either. If I had to use one word to describe my year i would have to use “pleasant”. The only lows that I had this year was that some of my friends moved away including two of my favorite cousins. However even though I lost some friends I was able to make new ones at the same time!
One of my most memorable moments this year was when I was finally able to Powerclean 190 pounds. It was the most satisfying feeling I have ever felt and I made sure to let everyone know how pumped up I was which came in the form of yelling and running around! Ask Cheatwood I’m sure he’ll tell you how crazy I went. Another moment is that I finally learned how to drive a manual transmission car! The things I’ve been interested in are golf, anime, and gaming. I’m not very good at golf and I don’t do much to improve outside of practice but I still like to play a couple rounds with friends or other teammates. I’ve been watching anime since I believe the 8th grade and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I’m also a very avid gamer and dominate in most Call of Duty games and the Halo series. However, I have my days where I’m completely off my game which results in me “raging”. Basically in other words, I start to yell and shout things which I’m not allowed to type. I also hear that the school will be reintroducing the wrestling program so I’m thinking of trying that out. I don’t really have plans for college. Atleast not for state colleges or universities. Right now I’m looking more at Community Colleges like Porterville College because it’s in my reality of possibility. Even if I don’t go to college I may just go to a Vocational School like UTI or even the military, either Marines or Army. In terms of a career I still don’t really know exactly what it is that I want to do. I know that I like to do things that require being hands on or using your hands to get dirty such as a mechanic or auto technician. Maybe even going into residential construction or welding. I anticipate the rest of my high school career to be fun but stressful. Not stressful in the sense that I’ll be struggling but in the sense that it’s my last year of high school and I feel like I’m not ready for life after. I would like it to be stress free but that mostl likely won’t happen. Especially not with the classes that I chose. But then again I’d rather have challenging classes rather than a boring year. |
