Guitar Club
I joined the Guitar Club my senior year once I finally was able
to get the class as an elective. I've been trying to get into Beginning Guitar since my freshman year but was never able to get into it. When I finally did get the class I wasn't so sure as to what to expect. It didn't take me long to pick up on the basics and even though I still currently can't play any songs, it's still been a pretty cool experience. I've always wanted to play an instrument and I wanted Guitar to be the first one. The club itself has around 15 members and all of them are a character. It's a really fun place to be when you and every one else have a common interest in guitar. Otherwise I guess you wouldn't be in the club in the first place.

JV FootballVarsity Golf |
I've been playing football since the age of 7. My family is a football family and my brother even set multiple records during his high school season. However, playing football for so long and it kind of gets dull. Don't get me wrong! My freshman year on the JV Squad was the best time of my life. Especially when we got to go to Hume Lake as a team. I'll never forget that weekend. High School football was a great experience, even though I suffered a concussion and missed the last 3 games. I only played my freshman year and after that I gave it up. So many people tried to encourage me to get back onto the field but I just wasn't feeling it anymore. So I turned in my pads and helmet and traded them for a set of golf clubs!
I joined the golf team my sophomore year just to try it out. To say I was good would be a fat lie because the truth is that I suck! I had no idea what I was doing or that each club had a certain purpose. Not once did I touch my Driver because I had no clue how to use it. But it was a learning experience for me. I didn't think golf would be so hard but it really is! I played my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year and over those 3 years I made improvements and gained more experience. I'm still not that very good but it's still a nice skill set to have for when I'm older. Golf has been pretty great and even though 18 hole matches are dreadful, I still look forward to them every year. Hopefully I can keep playing even after high school, not as a sport, but as a hobby. |
Reptile/Snake Enthusiast
Every group of friends always has that one friend with a strange talent, weird tastes, or has interests in things that some people would stay away from. I am that friend. I've had multiple snakes and lizards as pets and plenty of times I've been bit. But that's all part of the fun! I currently don't own any snakes or lizards at the moment mostly because I just don't have the finances to keep or maintain them, Eventually though I will get another snake or lizard. Maybe a couple spiders and scorpions. I've gone to 2 reptile expos and they are the coolest events to go to. So many different animals and creatures!

Model Building |
Model building is one expensive hobby, which is why I was never able to get started. It wasn't until I went to this nice little store called Hobby Lobby where I found this little contraption. It's completely made out of metal and was very painful to put together. Everything is already premade so all you have to do is punch out the pieces and fold them together, pretty easy right? Nope! This was the most infuriating tank to put together and I loved every second of it! Took me a couple of days to finish but never have I felt so accomplished. Slicing my fingers open on the metal was worth it once I saw this beauty in its final form.
